Dauntless Psychiatry

What Do We Do?

At Dauntless Psychiatry we offer comprehensive psychiatric medical care for numerous mental health conditions.
An integral part of our treatment methodology includes education. We believe education is an integral part of psychiatric wellness and we want our clients to leave feeling informed, empowered, and optimistic.

Our Services

New Patient Appointment

During your first appointment, your psychiatric provider will spend time reviewing your history and understanding your current symptoms and stressors/situations. During this time, preliminary diagnoses are made, though, while everyone’s experience is different, sometimes definitive diagnoses cannot be established in this single 50-minute session.
The relationship between your emotional and medical state, combined with your genetics and family history, can be complex and challenging. Dependent on your individual situation, your provider may seek additional information and will order and/or administer laboratory or genetic testing. We may also refer you to be seen by other providers for services including psychological or neurological testing, psychotherapy, or for medical specialty outside the realm of psychiatry.

Follow-Up Appointments

During your follow-up appointments, your psychiatric provider will: review your progress and ongoing symptoms, review the effectiveness of current treatment and adjust medications as applicable, and review testing results and/or evaluations/reports from consulted providers.
Follow up appointments are generally 15-20 minutes in length. At times, your psychiatric provider may find it necessary to also provide limited psychotherapeutic interventions. These interventions may go over the allotted time frame and additional psychotherapy charges may apply.

About Psychiatric Medications and Medication Management

After completing thorough evaluations psychiatric providers May prescribe medications to help treat mental health disorders. Psychiatric medications can help correct imbalances in brain chemistry that are thought to be involved in some mental disorders. Patients on long-term medication treatment will need to meet with their psychiatrist periodically to monitor the effectiveness of the medication and any potential side effects.

Class of Medications

  • Antidepressants – used to treat depression, panic disorder, PTSD, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, borderline personality disorder, and eating disorders.
  • Antipsychotic medications – used to treat psychotic symptoms (delusions and hallucinations), schizophrenia, bipolar disorder.
  • Sedatives and anxiolytics – used to treat anxiety and insomnia.
  • Hypnotics – used to induce and maintain sleep.
  • Mood stabilizers – used to treat bipolar disorder.
  • Stimulants – used to treat ADHD.

Collaboration with Community Providers

At this time Dauntless Psychiatry does not provide in-house talk therapy.
We work in close collaboration with multiple community providers including family practice and specialty physicians, psychologists, therapists, and inpatient psychiatric treatment facilities.
